About Lost Your Head
No quick fixes. No empty promises. Just honest, evidence-based advice for when life gets messy.
Why we exist
Lost Your Head was born out of frustration with the superficial and often misleading advice that floods the mental wellness space. Our founders, tired of quick fixes and empty promises, sought to create a platform that tackles emotional challenges head-on with honesty and authenticity.
We recognise that everyone loses their head sometimes. It's a natural part of being human. What matters is how we respond and regain control. Lost Your Head is here to help you understand your emotions, manage them effectively, and prepare for the next time life throws you a curveball.
What we're not
We're not selling you crystals. We're not telling you to manifest your way out of anxiety. We're not promising that three deep breaths will fix your panic attacks. And we're definitely not suggesting you just need to think more positively.
We're not a substitute for therapy. If you're struggling, please talk to a professional. What we are is a resource for understanding what's happening in your brain and body when emotions hit hard, and what actually works to manage them.
What we are
We're a collection of writers, researchers, and people who've been there. We read the studies. We talk to the experts. We test the strategies. And then we write about it in a way that doesn't sound like it was written by a wellness bot who learned English from Instagram captions.
Our tone is direct, honest, and sometimes darkly funny. Because when you're in the middle of a crisis, what you need isn't more toxic positivity. You need someone to acknowledge that yes, this is hard, and here's what might actually help.
Our approach
Everything we publish is grounded in psychological research and evidence-based practice. That doesn't mean we write like academics. It means when we say something works, we can point to the studies that back it up.
We focus on practical strategies you can implement today. Not because we think emotional health is simple, but because having one concrete tool is more useful than reading another think piece about the nature of suffering.
A note on mental health
Lost Your Head is not a replacement for professional mental health support. If you're experiencing a mental health crisis, please reach out to a qualified mental health professional or contact a crisis helpline.
What we offer is education, strategies, and perspective for managing everyday emotional challenges. Think of us as the friend who's read all the books and is willing to tell you what actually matters.
What guides us
Honesty first
We tell it like it is, even when it's uncomfortable.
Evidence-based
Everything we publish is grounded in research.
Practical
Concrete tools you can use today, not abstract theory.
